I have a customized /etc/bash.bashrc which does things like change the prompt color based on if the user is root or not. I would swear that this worked at some point but since I switched to my new laptop (and fresh install), this does not seem to function. If I
sudo su -
I end up with an environment that does not utilize that config. I can source it directly and everything starts working as expected. I realize that I could simply add this sourcing to root's own bashrc but I really want to understand what is happening.
If you have information on why this is not working and/or if this is not working because of design, can you please let me know?
Thanks
