Screen flickering with gdm and GNOME

Hi there!

For the past couple of weeks I've been having issues with my screen: in gdm and GNOME dark areas flicker. It doesn't happen when I use Openbox. I don't really know where to start looking for fixes. Does anyone out here have a clue?

Do you use a compositor? Try looking around in the window manager settings. There are probably options that can be modified to change or disable compositing. (I don't use GNOME, but it's likely that it does use a compositor.)
