Kernel 4.7.3 onwards causes kernel panic on my system.

Kernel 4.7.3+ is causing a kernel panic on boot on my laptop. Disabling acpi via 'acpi=off' will boot the system but with no keyboard support or X support (although I can still use the keyboard with an external keyboard). I've managed to downgrade to kernel version 4.7.2 which works fine.
This laptop is picky with how it works e.g it needs the parameters 'edd=off', 'noapic' and 'modprobe.blacklist=pinctrl_cherryview' to boot, it's this laptop.

Thanks to any of you who can help.

Bisecting between 4.7.2 and 4.7.3 should allow you to find the commit that is causing the panic.  This issue can then be reported upstream.
Would recommend using the linux-lts kernel in preference to an outdated linux package as that is a partial upgrade.
