[Solved]Gnome Terminal not starting

Gnome terminal is acting very weird. I was actually just using it and I closed it for a while.  After trying to reopen it again it just won't open.  I didn't make any changes I was only browsing the web for a second.  I tried it on other user profile also will not start now.  I tried removing and reinstalling in case of file corruption or something but that didn't help.  Rebooted multiple times. I also checked my /etc/locale.gen even though I haven't ever changed it since first install over a year ago and it looks fine.  When trying to start it from another terminal it doesn't give any output so there is no helpful debugging information I can find so far.  Other gnome apps are working just fine.

*edit*
I tested out another libvte terminal named sakura and it game me the message

akura: error while loading shared libraries: libpcre2-8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

installing package pcre2 solved the issue although this is not listed as a gnome-terminal dependency and strangely it was the first time I had this package installed so why it was working fine before is beyond me. Thankfully it is working again.
