Hi All,
While installing the base arch system I chose to use the open source drivers but i'd like to move to the proprietary drivers.
Starting with "catalyst-hook" I get an error that xorg needs to be lower than version 1.18.0, i'm on 1.18.4-1
sudo pacman -S catalyst

Do I really need to downgrade my xorg to install the Catalyst drivers?

Yes, you do. Instructions are on the catalyst wiki page.

Hmm, skimmed the rest of the wiki but must have missed that
Thank you Scimmia I found the bit I need to follow

Other xf86-* packages on your system will be downgraded, but xf86-video-amdgppu didn't exist before xforg-server 1,18.0 was released.
jusr remove xf86-video-amdpgpu, then try again.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

I don' t know if this issue is solved. If not, go the the catalyst wiki, copy the "xorg117 repository" and paste it all obove the others in your pacman.conf. Pacman -Syyu catalayst-hook do the rest
