Hello!
Using the latest Pitivi video editor from repos (version 0.97.1-3) there is a strange error when rendering video.
In console I get the error:
(pitivi:18735): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_mini_object_unref: assertion 'mini_object->refcount > 0' failedAnd in GUI it simply stuck on "initializing".
This problem shows only when rendering Pitivi "supported" types (MP4, MKV, WebM). When rendering "unsupported" like AVI and MOV it works fine without error.
Now, in Arch wiki there is a specific fix for this GStreamer error, which says to install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg. This didn't help.
Anyone had this problem? It's very frustrating not to be able rendering the video in normal format after spending time working on the project ![]()
Thanks!

I get the same error in console when rendering.
Nevertheless, I tested with ogv and webm formats, and the video still renders fine.
Have you installed the optional gst-* dependencies for pitivi?

Yes, all plugins installed.
Anyway, I solved the issue. It seems the problem was using the Opus audio codec and not related to GStreamer. Just select another audio codec, like Vorbis or AC3, and it works.

I'm having the exact same problem. I don't see any Vorbis or AC3 in my audio codecs list, I've tried all of them and none work. Opus is default.

Nevermind. I was trying to export as an MP4, switched to WebM and Vorbis was there. It worked.
