Hi,
I have just got a cheap laptop its only got a 40gb drive so just wondered what size partitions to use ? (/home / etc /boot swap etc...)
emmm is it ok to use reiserfs or should I stick with ext2/3
Have had knoppix running on it seems ok
It came with xp preloaded & I need to nuke it fast lol
Of course I will be running Openbox on it ;-)...
Biggest problem I may have is setting up network unless I can run it via bluetooth lol... keeping Arch up to date may be a problem
TIA

what wireless chipset? a majority of them are supported to varying levels under Arch, with relatively easy configuration.
this lappy im using now is running arch, 40gb hdd, 9gb /, 512mb swap, * /home. Although you might consider chucking a couple of extra 5gb partitions in there somewhere if you want to try other distros without nuking arch.
Yeah, my arch partition is excessively large, but it lets me install whatever I want, and retain all my cache without any concerns about hdd space. It's just comfortable.
