i make a nforce package it can be found in staging
now nforce drivers for kernel 2.6 available
the modules compile

modules are nvsound and nvnet

all you have to do is test their functionality

I have not such a hardware so feedback if it works would be nice

If the Docu is wrong or if you have suggestions for making it better
feel free to contact me

to install with staging repo:
pacman -S nforce

It's a nice release from nvidia, I had a quick look at them yesterday.

Unfortunately they are OSS based, which is a bit odd as OSS is severely depreciated in favour of ALSA, but as long as OSS emulator is selected in the kernel you should be ok. (I have no idea if this is selected in the 'default' Arch kernel config).

Still, it is a Good Thing (TM) and well done to nvidia

Great stuff, is there anyway to get xmms and gaim play at the same time without having to to do the asound.conf hack?

EDIT: I cant even get sound on gaim I can on xmms  however.

Everything works great.... except for the fact that when playing audio in 5.1 configuration the front and rear channels are reversed

I have a problem with installing the nforce pkg:

[root@zmeyka blum]# pacman -S nforce

/var/log/nvidia-nforce-installer.log doesn't exist at all. I'm using x86_64.
I have nvidia pkg installed with no problems... help?

I succeeded to install it.. after unpacking the pkg.tar.gz and running the installer itself. But even after loading the nvnet module, the problem with the network isn't solved. It's quite strange, when I try to download something bigger from the local network the connection resets. Every time on different transfer.. sometime it stops on 100Mb, sometimes on 40.. I stopped ipv6 support in the kernel (2.6.16-ARCH). Now I installed the nforce network drivers, but ..no result. Any ideas?
