MPDTray - Traybar controls for MPD

Hello!

So I've been using MPD for a while now and usually I use ncmpcpp to control it. But it gets a little bit
annoying to always open/switch to ncmpcpp just to adjust the volume or to skip/go back a song.

And since I didn't find a program to do what I needed, I wrote it myself.
It shows three tray icons which allow you to pause, skip to the next song and go back to the previous song.
Scrolling up or down over the icons will increase or decrease the volume. Also if you use dwm it'll show the current song in your topbar:

MPDQ

The configuration currently allows to change the following things

  • Rescale icons

  • Disable song text in the topbar

  • Change icon color

  • Write current song to file (e.g. to show it in OBS)

Something to note:
I only tried this program with dwm and the systray patch, so with other window managers the icons might not look like the ones in the screenshot.
Also it currently only connects to the locally running mpd and it has to have a running playlist.

So yeah, it's nothing big and there's probably room for improvement
but I thought I'd share it anyway, maybe someone'll get some use out of it^^
