Que?
How do you get gmail working with balsa? I'm stumped.
For incoming i've got:
name: [my email address]
server: pop.gmail.com:950 (i've tried it without the port too)
ssl enabled
password included
For outgoing i've got:
name: [my email address]
server: smtp.gmail.com:465 (i've tried it without the port too)
tsl - tried every option... you're supposed to use ssl for gmail outgoing, but there's no way to select it in balsa for outgoing accounts, it would seem...
no passphrase/certificate (I've tried putting my password for these too.)
Nowt. Nothing. Nadda.
Inspiration please?

Do you happen to have pop turned on in your gmail preferences? If not you should have that on in order to access gmail through pop. As for the configuration, they have some tutorials on their site on how to set up gmail with certain clients, just lookat one, doesn't need to be your client, just see what all options need to be on.

I have, and I did! That's the problem, I can't think what else there is to do.. I've configured gmail before in KMail, Thunderbird and Evolution very easily, but Balsa is being stubborn for some reason

Hehe, cheers bud
I've actually managed to get it working now - I changed the incoming ports for pop.gmail.com to 995 (they were on 950 before, which worked fine for me in other mail clients). I've also changed the outgoing ports for them (smtp.gmail.com servers) to 587 (they were on 465, again that worked fine for me in KMail, Thunderbird...). 'Passphrase' needs to be your password in the outgoing servers, but 'Certificate passphrase' has to be left empty for it to work.
What a cafuffle
