Hello everybody,
I have some trouble with my headset-microphone. While searching I found no solution. The internal microphone works fine. It seems the external microphone is not recognized at all, because it is not listed in alsamixer and not in settings/audio (Gnome3 settings).
At first I thought my headset is broken, then I bought a new one but the new one does not work, too. So I'm sure the problem is the system.
I got the following information while letting a record run in audacity:

I found some people solved that problem overriding the Jack with hdajackretask, but no luck for me.
And even if that would work I'm not entirely sure if it would solve my problem since I can only choose between "Headphone" and "Microphone". Since Headphone has no microphone and I want to use a Headset, this is an issue.
In case it's an usefull information, I'm using this notebook: https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/N550JK/specifications/
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
Same here with Asus G551JM which also has ALC668.
Could anybody help us to solve this? Tried with multiple options like hdajackretask overriding and setting
options snd_hda_intel model=
in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
with:
ALC66x/67x/892

Hi,
No luck so far. Tried so many "solutions", but non of them are working for me.
Found similar issue here and I think all distributions are affected - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1359803
Tried with fresh Fedora 25 install, but still not working.
@bale did you manage to resolve this issue?
