I have some issue with the headphones today. I am using Dell Vostro 5459. Previously plug in the headphones just work fine. But then it does not work. I have tried kill pulseaudio, remove ~/.config/pulse, alsactl -F init, reboot. But it does not help. In the pavucontrol, the Output Devices tab shows only Speakers, but no others.
The followings are my laptop info,
# cat /proc/asound/card*/codec\#*|grep -i codec
Codec: Conexant CX20722
Codec: Intel Skylake HDMI
# aplay -lL
null

I have also tried edit the /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
also test with "dell-vostro".
I also tried to boot with linux-lts and linux. None of the these work.

This is a weird solution. Based on https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=200090. But I do shutdown, instead of sleep. Note, it does not work with reboot, neither reboot to Windows nor reboot Arch Linux. Just a shutdown, and then boot into Arch Linux.
