No panel shadow for Xfce 4.12 with Compiz 0.9.13.0

I have played around with the window decoration settings in CCSM but to no avail. To be more specific, I set class=any in the "Shadow windows" setting and varied both active and inactive shadow settings (I even set class=Xfce4-panel to be sure but that doesn't work either).  Incidentally, there is no shadow for whiskermenu as well although all other popup menus have shadow as expected.

Any help will be much appreciated.

That's been an issue for some time I'm afraid. I don't know of any solution.

I know this is old but i want to give a workaround, i do face the same problem with compiz-9, this don't happen with compiz-8, that's why im still using compiz-8.
The workaround is to add the panel to NO ARBG visuals in windows rules plugin
class=Xfce4-panel
