I've recently setup a new arch system (linux 4.7.6-1) and now cannot access stations with m3u urls. For all m3u urls, rhythmbox shows the
Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in
error message. Non-m3u stations work.
I've tried various plugins but nothing works. At present, I have the following gstreamer related packages installed:
gst-libav 1.9.90+2+g108b08c-1
gst-plugins-bad 1.9.90+20+g7dd42ae-1
gst-plugins-base 1.9.90+12+g667931e-1

gst-plugins-good 1.9.90+8+g6542edd-1
gst-plugins-ugly 1.9.90+2+g07e5039-1

gstreamer0.10-bad 0.10.23-18
gstreamer0.10-base 0.10.36-3
gstreamer0.10-base-plugins 0.10.36-3
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.13-2
gstreamer0.10-good 0.10.31-11
gstreamer0.10-good-plugins 0.10.31-11
gstreamer0.10-mm 0.10.11-2
gstreamer0.10-ugly 0.10.19-16
gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins 0.10.19-16
phonon-qt4-gstreamer 4.9.0-1
phonon-qt5-gstreamer 4.9.0-1
I don't know what other plugins to try. Any suggestions? Or could the problem be something else, despite Rhythmbox's error message?
Is there an alternative to gstreamer? I'm not using gnome (I use openbox). I don't have to use Rhythmbox either. I just need something that will work, and without a full desktop.
thanks

I've given up on rhythmbox + gstream and switched to DeadBeeF, which does not use gstream and seem pretty much self-contained. So far it has run all my streaming radio urls with no problems.
This isn't really an answer to my question, but it is a viable solution.
