Can't see jpg pictures in Firefox nor Chromium

I'm having the strangest issue on my system... As hinted in the title, no jpeg pictures are displayed in Firefox or Chrome. However, I can they display fine in desktop apps (gwenview, Eye of Gnome...). other formats (png, gif...) work fine.

Does anyone have an idea or a starting point ?
