HP device manager does not found the pdd

Hi! I have revised the wiki but I cannot find a solution. I have installed all the packages needed to detect my HP, but when I amb in the "Setup Device" of the HP devide manager, then I get a green message in the field "PPD file" saying "(Not found. Click browse button to select a PPD file". When I select the corresponding pdd file it says the same message.

How could I fix it? I really need the printer...

The wiki only really has instructions for using the command line tools or web interface - you might be better off using those instead.

Perhaps something is crashing? You could try running hp-toolbox from a terminal with the debug flag ('-g') and see whether it prints anything useful.

so, nobody is able to help??

I have the same problem and tried everything I could think of, but with no success.

I got errors like this and can't find an answer anywhere:

OK, I found a solution:

sudo systemctl start org.cups.cupsd

and then:

sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd

after that I was running the HP Device Manager and was greeted with a "you don't have the rights for this printer" window, I loged in as root and the printer is now added and works fine :-)
