Rosegarden sequenser stuck at start

Hello, everyone!

The sequenser in Rosegarden doesn't move when I start it. When I press play, the sequenser plays the cursor under it and stops. I read this is because of the sequenser timer. I tried changing the setting for sequenser timer. "(auto)" and "system timer" do nothing and "HR timer" freezes my computer.

There's a warning triangle on the bottom right corner of rosegarden. When I click it, it tells me that Jack failed to start (I can't seem to start it manually either) and that Rosegarden couldn't find a high resolution timing source. It tells me to load the RTC kernel module with "sudo modprobe snd-rtctimer" but this module is not found.

So how can I get the timer to work?

Re: Rosegarden sequenser stuck at start

It's been a while since I've used Rosegarden, but I would try to start jack with qjackctl and see if that works or if you get any error messages. If jack does not work, Rosegarden will not work either AFAIK.
