This is just a heads-up - but I will obviously be grateful if anyone can suggest a fix.
A problem has arisen with Opera and flashplugin. As I understand it (and I don't understand it very well), Opera uses the Chromium version of the flashplugin, which we install as /usr/lib/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so. (currently Adobe Flash Player - Version: 23.0.0.162)
I had no problems with that until yesterday, when sites began to tell me that my flashplayer was out of date, even though they did not do so when using the same plugin in Chromium. I asked on the Opera forum and an Opera employee responds:
.. you need a more recent version of Flash. In Ubuntu you could use the adobe-flashplugin package from the Canonical Partners repo, which is the most recent version from Adobe themselves.
I have not researched exhaustively, but there does not seem to be an easy way get hold of the Ubuntu plugin.

Many thanks.
I use cower to keep my AUR packages up to date. The package name has changed from chromium-pepper-flash to pepper-flash and so cower did not see the new version.
(Still beats my how Chromium got away with using the old version, but no matter.)
