Dell XPS 2016 -- HiDPI and External Monitor

Wondering if anybody has any suggestions. Not sure that it matters but running latest Dell XPS which has a default 3200x1800. The default scaling in say Gnome works well enough, and KDE. The problem becomes when I connect an external monitor (widescreen, 2560x1080) because of the scaling for the Laptop Screen (eDP-1) the External Monitor (HDMI-1) is grossly magnified.

Changing the default scaling for HDMI, and eDP is becomes unreadable. It doesn't appear any of the Desktop Environments natively support have different DPI/Scaling for each Screen.

Anybody running a smilar setup, what are you doing to work around?
