I've installed Arch inside VirtualBox (EFI mode) on a MacOS host. The installation went fine, it boots OK using systemd-boot. I installed the Guest Additions as per the wiki, that seemed to work fine too. I've enabled vboxservice.service, and it seems to start up OK on boot (ie. it's in the list when I run systemctl status).
But now the window's kinda small, and when I put VirtualBox in full screen the console still only occupies a fraction of the whole screen. The wiki says to run
hwinfo --framebuffer
which produces no output (I first had to install hwinfo using pacman). So I return to the host and run
VBoxManage setextradata "arch" "CustomVideoMode1" "1366x768x24"
so that VirtualBox tells Arch that 1366x768 is a valid resolution. (arch is the name of the VM.)
OK, good, but now
hwinfo --framebuffer
still returns nothing, and resizing the window still has no effect.
What am I missing? Was there a step in there somewhere that I missed?
