Cross compiling with distcc on Arch (i686 using x86_64 slaves)

I wrote the following which I do to cross compile on my RPi with x86_64 slaves: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … hitectures and it works very well.  What I'm wondering is: what would be the corresponding toolchain needed to have an i686 Arch box as the master pushing distcc commands to an x86_64 box?

I don't think a precompiled toolchain exists, but you can make your own. The instructions on how those ARM toolchains were built are here: https://archlinuxarm.org/wiki/Distcc_Cross-Compiling. Follow that, but change the config to build an i686 toolchain instead of an ARM one. Might be tricky to get the config right, but it should work.
