I installed spamassasin for my mail server but I am having problems to run it as I am unable to run sa-update. When I run it it just exists with error code 1.
Having looked around I learned something by running it with the verbose switch
sa-update -D
and bellow is the output:
# sa-update -D

What I can see here is that by the end there is an information that there are no channels available. I tried pinging updates.spamassassin.org but it will not resolve to anything.
Can someone tell me if there are any valid channels that I can use? Or perhaps it may be some some other problem that I am not aware of?

It doesn't say that no channels are available. It says: "no updates available, skipping channel". From what I can tell, it seems to be working fine. Just for your information, here's an example of an actual dns error: https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/fre … 58613.html

Forgive me for the late reply, I wasn't really at home.
So you see, that is what I thought at first. However I am not even able to start the service. After sa-update I will run sa-compile and bellow is the output from the log when I attempt to start the service:

I did reinstall this time as I wanted to start from a new.

What happens if you try to manually run the ExecStart line of the service?
