[SOLVED] Getting "No kernel" message when installing custom kernel

I've compiled a custom kernel based on the offical package from the repository. Upon trying to install, I get two errors which I can't seem to find a fix for.

1. The hypen between the kernel version and the kernel name is not present which I believe is the reason for the second error which is;

2. The error in particular is "No kernel 4.8.6-1-zouti modules. You must install them to use DKMS!"

The name of my kernel is zouti.
Three (3) files are relevant to the issue I believe (PKGBUILD, zouti.preset and zouti.install), I have placed below.

Can you elaborate where from it is missing?

2. The error in particular is "No kernel 4.8.6-1-zouti modules. You must install them to use DKMS!"

Please post the full output.

Also, looking at the first lines from arch kernel PKGBUILD, you should probably use pkgbase=linux-zouti:

pkgbase=linux # Build stock -ARCH kernel
#pkgbase=linux-custom # Build kernel with a different name

Re: [SOLVED] Getting "No kernel" message when installing custom kernel

Thank you for replying ooo. I got it figured out now. I've fixed my issue. the problem was with this line

sed -i "s|CONFIG_LOCALVERSION=.*|CONFIG_LOCALVERSION=\"${_kernelname}\"|g" ./.config

a hyphen was required before ${_kernelname}, making it -${_kernelname}

Yes indeed, I have done that.
