Rootless Xorg

I have just noticed that in my machine X was running as root. I clearly remember when the transition was made to rootless X was made [1][2] and according to the wiki[3] X should start rootless in my machine, yet it starts as root.

I have used the wrapper configuration file[4] to tell X to start without root and it works(1), so I was wondering if it is just a detection problem in my machine or if the decision to revert rootless X by default was due to any bugs or compatibility problems.

(1) My setup fulfills all the requirements stated in the wiki.

Do you use a display manager?

Re: Rootless Xorg

No display managers, I use startx on a tty.

I was looking into closed bug reports and found this[1], I wonder if it's a similar problem.
