Dota 2 freezes KDE plasma updates

Hi guys,

When playing dota I noticed while alt-tabbed that the clock was behind ~35 minutes, the same time I have been playing the game.
Then I closed some windows, but the task manager did not update its UI, as if I did not close those.

Any idea what I can do to fix this behaviour? Basically plasma desktop is not repainting itself (after quitting the game everything goes back to normal).

This is something I have noticed occasionally too. I'm not sure what the actual problem is, but Alt+Shift+F12 usually switches back on the compositor and fixes the task bar for me.
