Most recent major packages I' ve update are linux and gnome-shell.
After reboot i get a blank screen. I can't even see gdm's login screen.
If i set gdm to autologin i get a blank screen but concky loads correcly and i have a grey X instead of normal mouse arrow.
I tried to downgrade kernel from 4.8.7-1 to 4.8.6-1 (but can't downgrade linux-headers too, package is missing from /var/cache/pacman/pkg)
I tried to switch to nouveau by replacing nvidia-libgl with mesa-libgl and removing nouveau from blacklist
I tried to remove .config
I tried to reinstall kernel, nvidia and gnome, but no luck
I tried from tty to "startx /usr/bin/gnome-session" but the result is the same
I also removed "quiet" from kernel parameters and everything is green OK
Finally "systemctl status gdm" reports gdm is started and running
Arch x64
Nvidia 340xx
Kernel 4.8.7-1
Gnome 3.22.2-1

I didn't see that before posting https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p1668856
but it solved my problem.
I first tried downgrading to previous version: mutter-3.22.1+49+g462d504-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
but it didn't work.
Version: mutter-3.22.1+41+ge8fc090-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz that zerphian mentions at the above post, works.
