Can't connect with Dualshock 4 controller

I'm unable to connect the dualshock controller to my pc.
I did manage to pair the deivce

But pressing the ps button does not connect the controller and also type connect <mac address>  does nothing, I get

Attempting to connect to 00:3C:7F:F0:F0:0A
Failed to connect: org.bluez.Error.Failed

Connecting the controller with USB does work.
Anyone have a idea how to fix this?

It seems my bluetooth adapter is a v1.1, could that maybe be the problem?
