The following LaTeX document purports to use
the Fontin typeface. But when I compile it with
xelatex only capital letters are found in the resulting
PDF.
\documentclass{scrlttr2}
\usepackage{fontspec}
\usepackage{marvosym}
\usepackage[english]{babel}
\selectlanguage{english}
\setlength\parindent{0pt}
\defaultfontfeatures{Mapping=tex-text}
\setmainfont[SmallCapsFont = Fontin SmallCaps]{Fontin}
\setsansfont {Fontin}
\renewcommand{\normalsize}{\fontsize{12.5}{17}\selectfont}
\begin{document}
Here is the text of the document.
\end{document}I suspect that the problem is in my font configuration
because the code works in an other system (Ubuntu)
and because the Computer odern font does not suffer
a similar problem. However, the LaTeX compiler gives
no warnings related to the font.
How can I ensure that the lower case Fontin letters is
properly installed in my system?

Some browsing on the topic revealed that the ImageMagic tood display
is able to preview fonts. When I applied the tool to preview Fontin typeface,
the installed Fontin typefaces - which come in many varieties - turned out to
include both upper and lower case letters, apart from the typeface
Fontin-SmallCaps. Apparently the LaTeX compiler automatically favors
this last typeface as the defaul if no specifications are given. When I changed the
preferred typeface to Fontin-Regular both upper and lower case latters
were rendered without problems.
