Hello ArchLinux community
I have just updated my ArchLinux yesterday and after that i observed huge "flickering" / "frame buffer ?" issues.
For a video of the issue see :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzp5QP … sp=sharing
My laptop is a dell XPS 2015.
Kernels tested : 4.8.7.1 ARCH, also tested on a 4.3.6 and LTS too.
So i don't think that is a kernel related problem.
[trix@D-BoX /]$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 5500 (rev 09)
Also i have tried many thinks like changing the xf86-video-intel to the modesetting one ( included in Xorg ).
I have played with i915 enable psr and i915_enable_rc6 parameters but nothing right. ( thanks to many forums topics )
The issue happen in Wayland and Xorg mode.
So,
1/ That's not a kernel related bug
2/ That not a video driver related bug ( same with modesetting as xf86-video-intel )
3/ Happen in a recent package update.
For that last point, unfortunately i haven't any trace of updated packages and i have deleted pacman cache ( for space issue ).
Logs don't get me revelants traces about a potential issue ...
Have you any idea about it ?
Have a nice day,
Regards,
Sylvain
