[Solved] Nvidia Not working

Hi Everyone,

I'm really struggling trying to figure this out. I can't get my Nvidia card to work. I've followed the wiki page here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA but to me it's unclear if I should update my Xorg.conf file or not.

lspci -vnn | grep VGA -A 12

This to me says that the nvidia card is being read and the nvidia drivers are being used however it doesn't run.

So glxinfo | grep OpenGL returns:-

I have my xorg conf files in this directory:- /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d

I added this file:- 10-nvidia.conf

Section "Device"
    Identifier "Nvidia Card"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    BoardName "GeForce GTX 960
    Option "AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration"
    BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

When I add this X fails to load.

The /var/log/Xorg.0.log states this:-

Mixing nvidia & nouveau drivers is a bad idea, remove xf86-video-nouveau .

The lspci output shows your system has a Hybrid Graphics setup with 2 videocards, an onboard integrated intel card and a discrete nvidia card.

Check Nvidia Optimus and Bumblebee pages.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: [Solved] Nvidia Not working

That worked perfectly. I've checked on most applications as well. I installed Optimus but didn't use bumblebee.

My updated config file looks like this:-

Section "Module"
    Load "modesetting"
EndSection

Section "Device"
    Identifier "nvidia"
    Driver "nvidia"
    BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
    Option "AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration"
EndSection
