[solved] i3/compton: java guis don't display properly

Here's a screenshot from intellij

As you can see there's a semi-transparent part at the top of the window, and this is the same for the main intellij window and some other java applications.

Everything looks fine when compton is off, and it's okay in gnome.

I've attempted googling issues but I haven't found anyone else experiencing the same problem...

I have had the same problem in i3/compton. I resolved it in my compton config by changing the following option (default was 0.8):

frame-opacity = 1.0;
