Is it possible to have two Xorg drivers running at the same time, each on a different GPU?
xf86-video-amdgpu should run on my R9 290x, but it will not work for my Radeon 7770
Can I install both of the open source amd drivers, or should I resort to using xf86-video-ati for both?
The second GPU is hooked up to a secondary monitor with a low resolution.

Maybe it's possible using udev rules for both cards.
But what do you need the 7770 for?

I have the 7770 hooked up to a monitor to save resources on the main GPU. (Mainly for when gaming on Windows)

In case there are no gpu-intensive tasks on the second screen, I'd say the performance improvement is negligible on windows when gaming.
In any other case you could just try installing both amd/ati drivers, boot and see what happens. The amdgpu driver may be assigned automatically to the 290x.

xf86-video-* packages can happpily coexist together.
X auto detection will choose the most suitable one of available drivers.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
