Unexpected OOM killer
Hi. Running recent (esp. 4.8.x) vanilla kernels on a lightly loaded system, I am having issues with the OOM killer launching when I would not expect memory pressure. This is running in a VM, so I can confirm that the same constant load triggers after a few days with both 512MB and 1024MB ram.
I have read of the OOM changes in 4.7, and the patches that have been applied in the various 4.8 releases. So far, I have not experienced any benefit. Given that I'm a bit weak on reading the OOM kernel output, I'd appreciate some assistance interpreting the below, and diagnosing the issue.

To follow up, it appears that kernel 4.8.10 has corrected this. I am running:
$ uname -a
