bbswitch makes Arch un-bootable

Hi,

After some months on Manjaro, I decided to come back on Archlinux. I fresly installed it today. I also got a new laptop, with the following integrated GPU and Nvidia card:

- Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2)
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M

I followed the wiki on how to install bumblebee, step by step. I can run optirun and primusrun with no problem. However, if I install the package bbswitch and try to boot/reboot, I'm getting stuck somewhere with no possibility to start a tty. If I chroot and uninstall bbswitch, I can reboot without any problem.

I don't know where to start to debug this issue. Is it possible to turn off the Nvidia card without bbswitch ? How can I know if my Nvidia card is on ? (withou bbswitch, because I can't run cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch)

Sincerely

Hard to say without logs, but you might be running into: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bu … kernel_4.8 so using any of the methods there might help you out.

Re: bbswitch makes Arch un-bootable

I tried what they suggest (adding pcie_port_pm=off to my Kernel parameters). I reinstalled bbswitch after that, but I still couldn't boot.

How can I get you the logs ?

Re: bbswitch makes Arch un-bootable

Chroot in and use journalctl, if it really dies somewhere during boot adding loglevel=7 to your kernel line should at least print some more verbose output.
