Microphone not working

Hi,

I am using KDE on Arch Linux and I have pulseaudio and Kmix installed.

Here's my `pactl list sources`: http://ix.io/1JAJ

I can't get my microphone to work. I have tested it with various tools online like: https://webcammictest.com/check-microphone.html

Re: Microphone not working

Why do you manually load an ALSA sink, remove that from your /etc/pulse/default.pa (or ~/.config/pulse/default.pa if you use that). Then restart pulse

pulseaudio -k

and then try to record something and during that post

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs

Re: Microphone not working

The line that loads alsa-sink is commented out in my default.pa.
Here's my /etc/pulse/default.pa :

Re: Microphone not working

Argh I'm an idiot, you should post

pacmd list-sources
pacmd list-source-outputs

of course

That source comes from somewhere, other candidates are some startup scripts like xinitrc or something

Re: Microphone not working

hmm.. try with the other mic port  pulse detects

pacmd set-source-port analog-input-mic

if that didn't work, can you post

amixer -c1

maybe there's some explicit control switch which pulse doesn't manipulate but has to be flipped
