[solved]Background color in conky-cli with ncurses

I run tmux in xterm. So, all my panes in tmux have a white background. I have recently bought myself a new PC. On my old PC I couldn't use lm_sensors, but now I can. I use conky-cli to show temperatures and fan speeds in a separate pane in tmux. I used the out_to_ncurses variable to make text of a new update print over the previous text. But now I have a black background in this pane.  I can change the text color, but as far as I can see  on the Configuration Settings page, there doesn't seem to be a variable to change the background color.  Is this something that should be configured in ncurses? Because I know nothing about ncurses, this will mean a lot of RTFM. Maybe I can avoid this if there is something else I can use instead of conky?

Why not just print it to tmux's status bar and do away with conky entirely?

Re: [solved]Background color in conky-cli with ncurses

I didn't realize I could use the status bar. One simple setting in tmux.conf and a simple script did the trick. My problem with the background no longer was a problem that needed to be solved.
Thanks.
