Power Manager Error when sleeping laptop - XFCE

When I wake up my laptop from a sleep or hibernation state, this error is shown.

 GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.login1.OperationInProgress: There's already a shutdown or sleep operation in progress. 

I have a feeling that there is a process that is conflicting with the sleep process, but I really have no idea what to look for. I am using XFCE, and have my laptop go to sleep when I close the lid. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
