I have a Thinkpad T460s with Intel HD 520 integrated graphics. Running Arch and i3wm, latest xf86-video-intel, latest kernel.
When watching video in any player, full screen or not, or playing a game full screen or not, I get micro stutter freezes every 10-15 seconds (I didn't time it.) The audio plays fine, but the visual freezes for about 1/4 of a second.
This is a laptop, so I don't really want to disable power saving settings.
I should note that this only started happening recently, but I'm not sure what changed. Any ideas on why this could be happening and what I could do to fix it?

Try disabling the compositor, if any.
Also, try to switch to the modesetting video driver.

I switched to modesetting and it's fine now.
