[SOLVED] Boxes disappear when the corresponding ISOs are deleted

Every time I install a new box everything works fine during install and I can use the box normally. However, if I delete the source ISO after the install is complete the box disappears!
Confirmed with Windows- and Linux-based operating systems.
This problem started after a fresh install of Gnome 3.22. Before that I could delete the source ISOs without any problem to Gnome Boxes.

Does this happens to anyone else?

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to tell me.  You install a new box, but when you delete the ISO, the box disappears. What?

Re: [SOLVED] Boxes disappear when the corresponding ISOs are deleted

Example:
Download an Ubuntu ISO, for instance;
Create a new virtual machine with this ISO in Gnome Boxes;
Close Gnome Boxes;
Delete the Ubuntu ISO;
Open Gnome Boxes again;
The previously created virtual machine is no longer visible. No image in ~/.local/share/gnome-boxes/images/ as well.

It's probably expected if it was just a live image. Did you actually go all the way through the Ubuntu installer inside the VM and reboot into the installed (*not* live) environment? If so, then that's bad, please file a bug on GNOME Bugzilla.

Re: [SOLVED] Boxes disappear when the corresponding ISOs are deleted

I also am hitting this issue today. I install windows 7 64bit in gnome-boxes. When I look at gnome-boxes' overview it says the machine is still "Installing..." even when Windows is fully installed and running. Once I delete the install ISO, and restart gnome-boxes the image is deleted. ~15GB image just deleted, and I can even see the space cleared using 'df -h'

Same issue. Really annoying. I actually started googling to find out if this is intended behaviour.

Re: [SOLVED] Boxes disappear when the corresponding ISOs are deleted

It does not make sense to me that this would be the intended behavior. Thanks for the confirmation of this problem. This also happens after gnome-boxes is updated from version 3.22.1-1 to version 3.22.3-1.
Filed a bug in Gnome Bugzilla, as sugested by Michael Catanzaro: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=776351.

I have just noticed that this problem no longer occurs. I am not sure which update solved this issue though. I am currently using Gnome Boxes 3.22.4.
