Mixed-monitor DPI and Wayland

Hello,
I've been using a HiDPI 4k Display alongside of a normal FHD Display, meaning everything is twice as big on the second one.
There are some sources saying this would be easy to solve under Wayland, but I haven't found anything about a working implementation.
This page mentions planned support of mixed-dpi for Gnome 3.16 but I'm not sure if its up to date since I tried Gnome 3.18 and it's at least not working ootb.

Does anyone know if Gnome / some other WM supports this feature or when it will be implemented? (I'm also open to other solutions. I just couldn't get scaling to work with X.)
