Atom IDE Font Anti-Aliased

Hello, I'd like to have my font in my editor in Atom to be Aliased (blocky, not smooth). To do this, I go to my style.less file to edit Atom. I've looked it up and have been confirmed it works (on Windows and Mac OS X). I simply have to enter

.editor {
  -webkit-font-smoothing: none !important;
}

I save, nothing happens. I've even restarted Atom, still nothing. Then I realized even using that snippet of code (specifically the -webkit part) in chromium, it doesn't work either. I finally found out it's GTK overriding the font-rendering. I would like to keep my font-rendering for everything else other than my editor / file tree in atom. How can I do this? Assuming I'll need to tweak both my style.less in Atom and my GTK Theme.
