ndis issues

I have a laptop with a belkin wireless card.  I followed the wiki to get the ndis wrapper, and it seems to work.  Wlan0 is visible, and the card's led is on.  However i cannot see the router with iwlist -scan and cannot get it to connect using iwconfig.  I put in the essid and key and i still cant scan anything.  If I put it in ad-hoc mode I get scan results for any essid i put in, but no connection.

Whats the difference between managed and ad-hoc mode?  Any idea why I can't get a connection?

Thanks

Re: ndis issues

I think ad-hoc is for when you want to connect to another wireless device in the neighbourhood. You don't want to use it for connecting to your router.

Re: ndis issues

Thanks for the info.  When I am in managed mode I cannot even change the essid.  Setting it with iwconfig does not actually change it.
