Why does the package "pandoc" gets so many rebuids?

Looking at the commit history of the package pandoc (https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/comm … ges/pandoc), it gets VERY frequent updates. The pkgrel number gets bumped up once every one or two days. For example version 1.16.0.2 got 30 rebuilds. Yet almost all the updates has no change in its PKGBUILD at all, except the pkgrel number.  Also the dependencies for this package are not updated that often as well. What's reason for so many rebuilds?

Because of the way haskell works. There's really no such thing as a stable ABI in haskell, so every time any library is updated that pandoc needs, or any library that those libraries need, etc, get updated, the entire stack has to be rebuilt.

Thanks for explaining. I only saw that pandoc has few library dependencies, how I overlooked the large amount of haskell make-dependencies this package needs...
