[solved] linux-firmware-20161222... misses iwlwifi-8000C-xx.ucode
Just a hint.
I recognized it because my IWL 8260 stopped working.

You probably want to open a ticket against this package if you believe something is wrong... the bbs is not the best place for this sort of info if your intent is to get it to the devs.

You're lucky. My laptop won't boot successfully with linux 4.9 or linux-zen 4.9. I opened a bug : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/52246
If linux 4.9 is the new lts kernel, well I'll stay as long as possible with 4.4.xx

You're lucky. My laptop won't boot successfully with linux 4.9 or linux-zen 4.9. I opened a bug : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/52246
If linux 4.9 is the new lts kernel, well I'll stay as long as possible with 4.4.xx
You have definitely another problem!
4.9 runs fine here and the latest linux-firmware package (...-2 in testing repo) solved the problem (as written above).

Looks like a bug in linux 4.9 code source itself. I will wait for first update and try to see if it is fixed or not.
