Double tap interpreted as single click, only with libinput and gtk2

  1. Double tap interpreted as single click (ie I have to triple tap to open files, ...)

  2. The problem is only reproducible on gtk2 programs. No problems on gtk3 and qt programs.

  3. The problem could not be reproduced on synaptics.

  4. On replaying events via evemu-record + evemu-play (source) gtk2 programs simply do not respond. (Again no problem on gtk3 and qt windows) (evemu recording)

  5. libinput-debug-events reports double-taps correctly but shows single click when recording is played.

  6. Hardware: Lenovo ideapad Z580 laptop.

Re: Double tap interpreted as single click, only with libinput and gtk2

Confirmed with dell xps 13 9360. Did you report it to the bug tracker of libinput?

BTW, thanks for the triple tap tip smile

Re: Double tap interpreted as single click, only with libinput and gtk2

Problem confirmed on Dell Inspiron 15R 5537. It seems to be a problem with libinput driver as gtk2 apps work fine with synaptics drivers.
