Hi,
I have an asus N56JR with an extern subwoofer. To use the subwoofer under other linux distributions I use hdajackretask (as explained here : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ASUS_N56jr). It always worked.
Now I'm trying to use it on arch but when I override the 0x16 pin hdajackretask doesn't ask for my password (like it did on other linux distributions) and the pin isn't override.
I'm on arch with i3. It worked on ubuntu and fedora under several desktop environments and it worked on Manjaro with i3.
I don't know what stop it to ask for my password and override the pin. Maybe it is a configuration of i3.
Do you have an idea ?

You need a polkit agent to make it ask for a password or alternatively use something like gksudo to start it with elevated privileges.

Using gksudo did it. Thanks!
