start gnome commander as root option not working?

Hi

start gnome commander  as root option not working?

In the GUI for gnome-commander When I try to run as root GUI prompts for passwd , GUI flickers and then nothing.

In terminal output of gksudo gnome-commander is

(gnome-commander:18392): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
 g_dbus_connection_call_sync_internal: assertion >'G_IS_DBUS_CONNECTION (connection)'
failed ch=11c75a4d6c6a4e7297d594d5efac177f --binary-syntax --close-stderr': Child process exited with code 1

I am using arch linux, XFCE DE .gnome-commander 1.6.2
it was working fine months ago
Is this just me or did it break at last update
[2016-11-08 00:47] upgraded gnome-commander (1.6.1-1 -> 1.6.2-1)
Any ideas?

regards

Re: start gnome commander as root option not working?

The arch package has disabled automatic Dbus invocation for X11 applications. start it with

gksudo dbus-launch --exit-with-session gnome-commander

(I think you could also pass your DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS env overe so that it uses your own dbus session, but that mixes root and user dbuses which might not be a good idea)
