This problem began not so long ago, a couple of weeks I think.
The issue I am having is that whenever I open a game on Steam, like first person shooters, the mouse camera movement becomes totally out of control.
The effect is like acceleration, when it should be a linear one. Therefore, it takes a few pixels of movement to suddently have a total mess on the camera gameplay,
which typically ends up in a crazy rotation looking to the sky or the floor.
Anyone know what kind of problem I am having? Desktop mouse is fine.

Are you using Gnome with Wayland?

Yes, I did not know Gnome defaults to Wayland now. Changed to Xorg and everything worked ok on Steam. Many thanks
