Hy There ![]()
I wish you a happy new year and I hope this one will be fine for all of you.
For me it's start well because I just installed Arch since 1 week ago now ![]()
I just have a question here :
I see this log for Xorg (running with I3wm) :
"[ 3066.861] (II) UnloadModule: "evdev"
[ 3066.861] (II) evdev: sonixj: Close
[ 3066.861] (II) UnloadModule: "evdev"
[ 3066.861] (II) evdev: Power Button: Close
[ 3066.861] (II) UnloadModule: "evdev"
[ 3066.861] (II) evdev: Power Button: Close
[ 3066.861] (II) UnloadModule: "evdev"
[ 3066.862] (II) Server terminated successfully (0). Closing log file."
I also ahe installed Syslog-ng in order to have somethinh like this :
"Jan 2 11:16:09 Lowe systemd[1]: proc-sys-fs-binfmt_misc.automount: Got automount request for /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc, triggered by 1317 (find)
Jan 2 11:16:09 Lowe systemd[1]: Mounting Arbitrary Executable File Formats File System...
Jan 2 11:16:09 Lowe systemd[1]: Mounted Arbitrary Executable File Formats File System.
Jan 2 11:17:22 Lowe systemd[1]: Starting Cleanup of Temporary Directories...
Jan 2 11:17:22 Lowe systemd[1]: Started Cleanup of Temporary Directories."
I just want to have a timestamp like that for all my log (I wiil pu them in a log manager later).
Does anyone can help me please ?
I see that : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/syslog-ng
Should I use it for Xorg (and all of ma future programs) or not ?
Thx a lot ![]()

Use journald instead of syslog, your life will be much better (and include accurate timestamps)
