how to enable scroll lock keyboard light in virtual console

I've noticed that scroll lock works in my virtual console, but the light doesn't light up on my keyboard when it's active.  The light works in X after enabling scroll lock for X.  I've been digging around and can't seem to find a solution.  How do I make the scroll lock liight on my keyboard light up when scroll lock is active in a virtual console?

"setleds +scroll" should activate it - this way at least you can try whether it can be accessed. By what measures the scroll lock is invoked, i've no idea (I use it to eject/tray and optical drive ;-)

This doesn't work at all for some reason; it doesn't even activate scroll lock.  Pushing the scroll lock key does activate it, but it doesn't turn the light on my keyboard on.

it's only supposed to toggle the led, but you know where the problem is: the led doesn't toggle at all, it's not that the state isn't somehow tracked.

Okay, the LED works fine in X and it lights up momentarily during boot with the rest of the LEDs, so how do I get it to work in the console?  I don't even know where to begin with troubleshooting/solving this problem.  I know that it's a minor issue, but I like to have everything working as they should.

You don't. Just tried, doesn't work here either (unlike +caps or +num or the SR on X11)

It's a bug. Also see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1256895
The only difference is the ioctl and since it doesn't re respond to the keypress either, this might be a bug in the VT implementation.
